The breathtaking beauty of Rainbow Mountain, the peaks adorned in seven vibrant hues, a true nature's masterpiece as literally took my breath away. It wasn’t easy to make it up there due to the elevation. Each layer tells a story of millions of years, a colorful journey of distinct minerals. Standing tall at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet), this mountain's altitude is making it one of a kind.
A reminder that beauty and strength often come from layers of time and resilience.
The extraordinary wonder of Machu Picchu etched a lasting impression on my soul. Amidst the captivating blend of history and breathtaking scenery, the experience radiated vibrant energy at every turn. Meeting Nilo served as a profound reminder of our interconnectedness with the world and nature. It urges us to reflect, recenter from the heart, and recognize our responsibility to reciprocate the richness bestowed upon us by Pachamama. While in Cusco, I had the privilege of exploring the unseen landscapes on a dirt bike and meeting the remarkable Benigno, a local essential oil producer. His dedication to his craft and the hardworking community resonated deeply with me. Despite the challenges they face, Benigno was determined to create a local organization that ensures fair compensation for the farmers, while big corporations pay them minimal amounts, Benigno realized a dream of creating a local organization to empower these hardworking communities.allowing them to continue producing quality plant materials for essential oils and provide for their families. This encounter reminded me of the importance of supporting local communities and the true impact of our choices when buying essential oils. Benigno's story shed light on the challenges faced by local farmers who work hard. This experience ignited a passion in me to continue advocate for fair practices in the essential oil industry and support local initiatives.
Hidden Gems and Unique Cultures
The journey continued to Lake Titicaca, a hidden gem with a unique culture. Meeting little Luna and her family on their island was a truly unforgettable experience. The realization that we were on the highest lake in the world added an extra layer of magic to the adventure.
Tranquility in Mancora and the Bustle of Lima
From Lake Titicaca, we made our way to Mancora, a northern gem with infinite beaches and fresh seafood. However, the beauty of the place was marred by the heartbreaking sight of plastic pollution in the ocean. Witnessing the widespread use of plastic, floating in the ocean, deeply saddened me. Many citizens seemed indifferent to this environmental concern, and it tugged at my heartstrings. The sight of neglected hoses and dogs brought tears to my eyes. In response, I made a conscious effort to purchase water and food responsibly, resisting the allure of tourist activities like horseback riding on the beach. While my actions may not have changed the world, I hope they made a small but meaningful difference for those animals on that particular day. Amidst the serenity of the white sand beaches, the gentle waves' melody, and the salty air, my soul found profound peace and tranquility.While the serene white sand beaches and the soothing melody of the waves in Mancora provided a much-needed sense of peace and tranquility, the stark contrast awaited us in Lima, a bustling city with its own unique charm. Exploring beautiful areas and reuniting with friends, the journey in Lima encapsulated the dynamic essence of Peru.
